Katie Hargrave / The Legacy of the Founding Fathers of this Great Nation: Counties Named for their Contributions
(text from brochure created for the County Museum)

Information Regarding Each of the Founding Fathers and Their Legacy throughout the United States

The Founding Fathers of the United States of America did much to mold the character of the nation and
the people. Their notions regarding the integral values of the US have endured from this country's infancy
into the present. While all these men believed in the potential of the North American landmass to become
a great international symbol for power and freedom, the Founding Fathers cannot be singled out solely for
signing the Declaration of Independence or the Constitution; their deeds go much further than this.

Each of these men live on in the very soil that we Americans cultivate and inhabit today. In the naming of
the land, each Founding Father received their due legacy:
John Adams
Charles Carroll
John Dickinson
Benjamin Franklin
John Hancock
Thomas Jefferson
James Madison
George Washington
